Spin Class

So I took an indoor cycling class for the first time Sat at the Y and I loved it. The teacher was really nice and I got a great work out. The class started out with a warm up then moved on to a high cardio work out. It was really tough when we started the running (which is pedalling really fast) then doing climbing (increase resistance to make it feel like climbing a hill on a bike) in 30 second intervals for 10 minutes. I had heard that taking a spin class burns a lot of calories so if you want to burn some calories I highly recommend taking a spin class at you local gym. If its your first time taking a spin class, make sure to push yourself but don't over do it....you will end up with sore muscles the next day.

The YMCA is located at 205 North Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro, there is also a new facility in Smyrna that I have heard is nice. I just wanted to give some more information to anyone who is interested. I will start off with some of the facilities highlights: Flat Screen TVs on Cardio Equipment, Relaxation/Stretching Room, Indoor Cycling Studio, Indoor pool with 3 lane lap pool, therapy pool, and outdoor pool with a slide for the kids during the summer, Indoor walking track (not a big one). There is also benefits of membership like, free wellness consultations, over 70 group fitness classes per week, Kids' club, year-round swim lessons, youth sports: indoor soccer, basketball, and flag football, Cheerleading/gymnastics. The hours of operation is:
M-Thur 5 am to 10 pm

So again I recommend joining to everyone. Its a great place for you to workout and also if you have children a fun place for them to. You can go to www.ymcamidtn.org to find out more if you like.

Joining the YMCA

I just recently joined the YMCA here in Murfreesboro and I am enjoying the benefits they offer. I try to work out at least every day and love the atmosphere there. The facility is nice and clean. The cardio area is fun and some of the equipment have TVs on them for you to enjoy your favorite show. They also offer alot of great classes throughout the day, like pilates, boot camp class, aerobics and many more. The facility also has a daycare for you to leave your children while you workout. There is also a sauna, a pool indoor and outdoor, basketball court, racketball court, and programs for the children to be active in. So if anyone was looking for a great place to start working out I highly recommend going by and checking it out.
